OK here's the situation. I have 2 comps in my apartment with 2 cnnections to the LAN(which runs throughou the apt. complex and is not controlled by me). I have files on compA that i want to transfer to compB, but i don't want anyone else getting at these files so i want to password protect the folder so others cannot get to the files. Is this possible? And How?

compA has win2k and compB has winXPPro with sp2. Both comps can see each other through the lan already, but i just want to restrict access to my shared folders on compA.
    Thanks.

If the computers are on a domain or workgroup, you can change the file permissions of sharing, so that only people logged onto either of your 2 pc's can do anything with them.
Use Winfile for this. PM me and I'll email it to you

Alternatively, zip (or rar) them into a password protected archive and just share the folder they are in.
