my speakers are on
mic is listed in audio properties
clicked on 'options'- 'properties'-'recordings' and i selected mic an line in
and still no action any ideas lads>>>>>>>>>>

did you do the webcam/mic setup before hand? To make sure everything is working.

Firewall, either the person your trying to have the audio conversations firewall is blocking it, or your one isnt allowing outgoing communicatoin using an IM Client acting as a server. If I am right, you will not be able to send files either, try it
