Once you've got some basic understanding of IPv6 go to www.sixxs.net and set up an IPv6 over IPv4 tunnel (HEAnet currently operate the Irish SixXS node). Still a while off any of the Irish (non academic) service providers offering native IPv6 services but some at least are actively working towards it.

Most of the ISPs are experimenting with IPv6, so you could ask them about it as well.
