    Hi,

I've got a domain on the stalled list in the IEDR, because:
"Authoritative answers obtained from only one nameserver"

I was wondering, does anyone know the commmand or list of commands that the iedr run to ascertain if your nameservers are setup ok. That way I can at least tweak my server settings by trial and error. Everything else works fine on the server, it's just I added additional nameservers for this one account and they're obviously not setup right.

I've noticed that "dig domain.com" brings back fairly similar info, but I'm not convinced that this how the iedr checks the nameserver records.

    Cheers for any info.

I presume it is, or something loosely based on it.

I'm sure the test is something like for each of the 2 servers you specify in the application/modification request, both must identify SOA records for both domains.

So it may well be that both domains are happily serving records for your domain, one of them doesn't know that it is authoritative (most likely broken SOA data, or master/slave relationship between NS servers)

    The domain name would help

What cgarvey said. If you want the nitty gritty, PM jmcc, he's been working with the IEDR nameservers for quite some time and likely knows all their little quirks and habits. However it's most likely going to be a simply misconfiguration on the slave, perhaps an incorrect IP address for the master?
