    like ever!!

    Here are my top 3.

    1) Galileo vs Fantastic Light in the 01 Irish Champion Stakes.. (Track record time) - An utter stalemate up the stretch between an unbeaten dual derby winner (who had just recorded the second fastest derby time ever) and a monster of an older horse in fantastic light who had just beaten the mighty Kalanisi and observatory (observatory was the horse who ended Giants Causeways attempt at the world record for the most grade1 wins in a row). ANd to top it off, it was a rematch! The 2 had already come together a coupla weeks before in a great race in which Galileo prevailed by a half length. Coming up the stretch it was an utter test of strength and willpower, Fantastic Light charged on in front by only small margain as Galileo stalked him on the poutside, it looked as if Galileo was going to catch him but the wire came to soon, and fantastic light help on..Bach was 6 lengths behind the pair. What a race.

    2) High Chaparral vs Falbrav - Irish Champion Stakes 03' One of the most underrated horse ever in my opinion. Dual Derby's, Dual breeders cup and irish champion stakes winner soming back into majaor competition after a badly bruised shoulder. Came up against the like of Alamshar (the only horse to ever beat Dalakhani), Islington (Breeders cup and dual yorkshire oaks winner), Falbrav (A machine), Moon Ballad (Dubai World Cup Winner), Vintage Tipple, (Oaks Winner)...All these quality horses and high chaparral still won. He looked like he was struggling come around the bend with Mick Kinane doing his usual; pushing a horse when they clearly don't need it, He loomed up alongside moon ballad who had struck the front and then past him easily, Alamshar had also past on the inside but was clearly struggling. Coming into the last furlong Islington had just got going and falbrav was struggling to find room but both were clsing fast on HC, Once they go near him he just held on to win by a half length..Thrilling stuff. (I was screaming at the TV haha)

Giants Causeway vs Tiznow - Breeders cup classic 00' - Kentucky Derby winner Fusaichi Pegasus, Lemon Drop Kid, Albert the great, Captain steve, gander and a host of others. Tiznow settled just in behind front runner Albert the great, Giants causeway was 3rd fron 6 furlongs out, Mick Kinane again had him hard ridden from about 2 out, He looked to be struggling when Tiznow hit the front in the stretch, BUt then he loomed up on the outside, the 2 of them going head to head, he looked to be getting level with him when mick kinane changed whip habds and he dropped back to within a head of tiznow, the line came just in time for tiznow and Giants Causeway came within a couple of inches of being the world champion race horse....Blew me away watching that race..!

    Whats yours??

My favourite race ever was when The legend Istabraq won the Champion Hurdle in 1998 by 12 lengths,The widest margin for over 60years.
    Absolute awesome performance!

Hey, it's National Hunt season! None of this flat racing malarkey!
    Nah, just kidding. ;)

My favourite race was the Breeders' Cup Turf in Santa Anita, 2003. The above-mentioned High Chaparral dead-heating with Johar and barely a head back to Falbrav in third. The most exciting finish to a race I've ever seen. It took them 12 whole minutes (!!!) looking at the photo before calling it a dead-heat. Goosebumptastic!

As for the jumping game, I never get tired of watching Dawn Run's win in the 1986 Gold Cup.

Ya that was one of mine also. The way high chaparral looked to be going backwards in the straight and then all of a sudden started going again. He beat falbrav twice...Awesome. Johar did pretty dam well in that race aswell. He closed like a train. Awesome.

I also loved the 2002 BC Mile. I had money on poor Landseer to win at 6/1. He had just won a grade 1 in france. Edgar Prado was sitting motionless on him coming around the turn and he actually looked like he could have won it had his leg not shattered into a million pieces. THe finish was thrilling. Rock Of Gibraltar was right at the back coming into the straight. Mick kinane started making his run when Landseer was hobbling about in front of him and Rock had to check loosing some momentum. Once he got going on the outside though...wow! He past horses like Good Journey, Del Mar Show, Forbidden Apple, Green Fee, Dress to thrill like they were standing still! He came from almost last 2 second in a couple of hundred metres. What a race that was. Made worse by sickening breakdown of landseer. he was going full pelt and it took ages for him to stop and collapse =(
