TV License Inspector

Just had the TV License Inspector call around to the house the other day, I hadn't paid the license at this stage and pretended I wasn't in (I said Iwas a friend staying in the house while I was away). Well he said there would be a letter in the post! Anyone know the ramifications? I have now paid the license fee :mad:
