    Just a thought,

If there was a thread available for people who were considering buying a specific item, once they had decided on a item, price etc they would publish this before placing the order, thus allowing others to add extra items to the order reducing the price of the items for everyone?

e.g. if someone was, for example, buying a camera, this person would say something along the lines of 'i am buying such and such a camera in 5 days time for EUXX'. Anyone else interested in the same item, or similar from the same supplier would be able to add to the persons order, at least saving transport and perhaps allowing better prices all round to be neogiated.

The main problems i can see for this is actually re shipping the item in Ireland, e.g. who does the item go to, and payment for same?

Although something on a smaller scale may work, e.g. for anyone who has just bought a house, and is fitting it out, if they were able to get in contact with others in the same area who were doing the same thing, walking into any tile/floor/hardware/etc etc place with the purchasing power of 2+ houses instead of just one may allow considerable savings?

Feel free to take this idea apart as you see fit, but where you do, please suggest an alternative solution?

Interesting idea but one would have major problems with delivery
    and payment I would imagine.
Unless all the people were from the same area in Ireland, you'd have the
postage or delivery costs here as well to consider.
You would have to get one of the participating parties to be
coordinator and organise dosh, collection etc.
What happens if/when the delivery is wrong/incomplete/damaged etc?
Nice idea but not an easy thing to organise.

I dunno okidoki - this is "Bargin Alerts" - what's the chance the person will be getting a bargin online on an Irish site ???
I never order online from Irish sites, as they're such a rip-off, it's always from abroad and then the shipping is based on Country, i.e. Ireland.
