FTV card activation -- in Poland??

    I have just received my FTV card from the UK and when I spoke to the guy when ordering he said that the card would come activated. Of course the card was not activated and channel 4 and Five did not even appear on the EPG. I got the card hoping to only receive Channel 4 and may Five on Astra 2A/B. I receive the rest of the sky digital FTA channels at 90% signal/quality crystal clear.
    I am outside the Astra 2D footprint in Poland, this may the problem. Does anybody know if the activation signal piggy backs on the astra 2D satellite??? :confused::confused::confused: :mad:

    Try adding Channel 4 to your other channels 12.168 V SR 27.5 FEC 2/3
    this is just to see can you view them off the epg.
    It can take up to 24 hours for a card to activate and the channels to appear on the epg.

    :confused::( :mad: Thank colm I will try as you suggest. However I still fear that that the activation is via astra 2D which eliminates me. Some of the guys out here have astra 2D but only dishes bigger of at least 1.6M(out of my budget at present but will be trying for RTE TV edventually).

    I just spoke to the reactivation people at 00 44 0870 6061111 gave the usual confirmation(address,post code,version,viewcard no,and serial. They promised to activate the card again! However I could not really ask the nice Indian lady what satellite the activation signal is broadcast on.

    Sorry I am rather long winded but if any body can advise what satellite Astra A,B,C or D, north or south beams the activation signal is broadcast on???? :( .

    wouldn't think its on astra 2d, Must like at 11778v, As this is the default transponder on the box,

    Sorry for for the delayed reply I have been traveling.

    Arrived back last night --- FTV card had been activated in my absence--Channel 4 & Five crystal clear, thanks to all for your help, will look at a bigger dish(say 1.2M) after the snow goes to see if I can pull in RTE TV.

    Out of curiosty I was in Moscow and many of the expats have AstraA,B&C working at 60% quality reading on a 2m dish, sky is everywhere!
