I had a post about possible Java classes and looked into from here and I've since found out it would cost up to 1500 euro to learn it so I'm going to try and start by myself, do anyone have any suggestions for good beginners books and the best way to go about starting?

also have a google for "thinking in Java" by bruce eckel. you can download it for free from the website, or buy it in book form in shops/web
found it quite good as a conversion from C/C++ to Java
