Wonder if anyone can help please, know pratically nothing about e-mail so apologies.

have a indigo (gofree) e-mail addy and suddenly today can't send or receive messages

the error message coming up is

    "
Task 'pop.indigo.ie - Sending and Receiving' reported error (0x80042108) : 'Outlook is unable to connect to your incoming (POP3) e-mail server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).'

e-mail worked fine this am, and only thing I can think of thats happened today is that I updated my nortoin anti-virus.
would really appreciate some advice, thanks

it could be just a problem with the actual e-mail server itself, have you rang indigo's tech support to check with them if they are experiencing any problems with their server?

norton antivirus shouldnt be causing the problem if its a connection error but maybe try undoing the updates and then see if you can connect?

but check with indigo first to see if the server is running ok.

Go to Start, then Run, and type "cmd" and hit return.

At the prompt, type "ping pop.indigo.ie" and hit return.

    You should see something like:
    "Reply from 159.134.198.151: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=254"

If it says "Request timed out" or anything similar, it means the server is probably down.
