A man was driving home from work when he ran over a cat that was crossing the road. He pulled over to the curb to check the damage and found the cat lying on the side of the road. Since he had hit the cat pretty hard he thought he ought to put the poor thing out of it's misery. So he got his steering wheel lock out of the car and hit the cat a few times over the head. Sure that the cat was dead he hopped back into the car and went home. A few hours later the man answered a knock at the door, it was the local police, they wanted to ask him a few questions requarding a call they received about animal cruelty. He explained what had happened and before leaving the police decided to check the damage to the car. Upon inspection they found the cat the man had run over mangled into the grill of the car. The man had apparently murdered the happless cat belonging to an elderly lady. The lady was quoted saying "Chester used to enjoy sleeping by the side of the road".
