    I'm bulking at the moment and I'm wondering if it's better to be eating brown bread, brown rice etc that the refined stuff?

    I think you are always better staying with the natural food side of things. By refined are you refering to simple processed carbs?

    complex carbohydrates = unrefined starchy foods = best for general diet

    simple carbohydrate = refined sugars and starches = best for insulin spike = best for consumption immediately after training with protein

    Yeah go with brown rice instead of white,brown/wholemeal bread " " of white, oats " " of cornflakes/cocopops etc.
