Hey there I've got a lap top with a 1.8 ghz Celeron Processor. Bar the available slots is there anything that limits the amount of Ram I can put in the system???

    Thanks

Apart from the density of the DIMM no.
As far as I know the max size of SO-DIMMS(laptop standard) is 1024mb

Cool at the moment I've two sticks of 256 to give me 512 but I want to get two 512 to give me 1024. Cool just wanted to make sure there was no other constraints I had to know about...

there are other constraints. the motherboard has a maximum amount of ram it can support. put too much in and the thing crashes a lot. find out what the max for the board is first

As smorton says.. the best bet is to check your motherboard manual or laptop specs online and see how much it can support :)
