If you want a volume booster or open access for file download between ipods via the net or battery numeration.

this is a handy (freeware) proggy that i got off a mate.

    http://espen.se/?category=1

download the 1.6 version. Great tool

Iv a 40gig 3rd gen and i got it in the states....dropped it a few months later and got it replaced with a crappy european one. Volume is crap. So this is a handy thing! :)

    there's alot about this on ipodlounge.com, e.g.
    http://www.ipodlounge.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=45402&highlight=gopod

Apparently there's something in the firmware that limits the max volume on EU ipods. The 2 main programs for removing this seem to be imod and gopod.

Haven't tried either, I have sensitive ears :-)

you have to run it after everytime u sync with itunes, its just a tag, and if itunes is open when u connect it it will see the tag n decide to replace everything on ur ipod...
though if you are using mp3 gain you will only have to do that once per track unless itunes overwrites them..

By the way..... instead of using that poor excuse for a program, iTunes.

Another recommended download is the brillant EphPod (http://www.ephpod.com)

    Download it here: http://www.builderadius.com/ephpod/ephpod275.exe

    What it is:

EphPod is a full-featured, easy-to-use Windows application that connects with Apple's iPod. With a FireWire card and EphPod on a PC, it takes under 30 minutes to transfer 1,000 songs to an iPod. In addition, EphPod supports standard WinAmp (.M3U) playlists, includes powerful playlist creation features, and will synchronize an entire music collection with one click. EphPod also includes powerful music-information ("tag") editing options, as well as support for Audible and MP4/AAC files (although not the "protected" MP4/AAC files sold at the iTunes Music Store). EphPod is designed to be completely compatible with iTunes, so that you can use both EphPod and iTunes interchangeably with your iPod.

You can transfer songs from iPod to a computer (which iTunes won't let you do)
You can create Playlists for all your albums in one click... and much more!

    BRILLANT, BRILLANT piece of software!

Well i have ephpod and it is a good program but i prefer itunes and i am used to it now.
anyway i really want to fix this problem i am having, once i boost the volume and i go into itunes again it resets everything. i have tried to follow instructions in the support forum for the program but its not working. the only thing that i can think of is to set it to manual manage my songs in itunes which will be annoying.
i have also run fix_itunes_lib that it suggests and it does seem to do something but i checked and it still did an autosync afterwards in itunes.
    What is wrong?

    Thanks
