    Hi all,

Regarding the Celeron D processors...especially the grey square patch on the underside of the heatsink.

Does this act as a heat transfer or do you still need to apply thermal paste. Unlike the AMD chips, paste is not supplied by Intel.

    Thanks,
    Dara.

Its a thermal pad. Ya just stick on the heatsink, and the pad melts, thus creating a good transfer between heatsink and cpu.

They are not as good as good thermal paste properly applied (by a couple of degrees AFAIK)
