Why dont you get another HD somewhere and use that ?

Im sure you could get a 2nd hand 40 gig HD for 40 Euro or so, disk space is so cheap these days why bother even playing with a 4 gig drive.

it just wouldn't be worth it in my opinion.

Sorry thats not helping you at all but I do think its time to invest in another drive.

4 gigs is a bit small especially for Fedora. Try install with as little as possible once you have a gui you can have a look around see if you like it.

    Or try Knoppix -- http://www.knoppix.org/
Runs off the cd so no need to partition your drive.

There is a Unix forum here on boards where you can have a read through and search a bit to get others opions on things.

If you're just testing, 4gb is enough. If you get it working up to your expectations, then you'll probably be using it more than XP, and you'll need more space for it.

In that case, making a Fat32 partition and using that as your "data" drive would be best, as both windows and linux can read/write from it.
