When i try to open windows media player 10 i get a pop up saying An internal application error has occured and does not open. It was working fine up to 3 days ago, since which ive been searching the net for an answer, but so far nothing has worked. I also have problems with internet explorer in which javascript dosnt work or the flash plugin, but both are checked to be enabled in the preferences.

When i tried to install Windows media player again it reinstalled fie till the end when a pop up appeared titled windows file protection. it said that files required to run windows xp were replaced by unreckongnized versions. To maintain system stability, windows must restore the original versions of these files. Insert your windows xp home edition cd-rom now.
So i insert the disc but it then says that i am running a higher version than the disc. Im really stuck, please help.
