Dutchman searching for a job in Ireland

Since a while I'm active on this forum. I read the things that are interesting for me. My English is far from good so first of all my apologies for it.

I would like to improve my English and try to speak (and write) it as fluent as possible in the future. Since a while I'm looking around for a new job and I'm also very interested in working abroad, especially in Ireland and Northern Ireland (but also in other English speaking countries like Wales, Scotland and England). I've visited Ireland once in the past (Dublin and Belfast) but I really like to visit it again.

My location is Oirschot in the south of the Netherlands. I'm looking for a job in the (international) wholesale trade but some other lines of business such as tourism etc could be interesting for me too.

Of course I'm willing to relocate if I can find a job in Ireland. I think I could be of value for an Irish company as a co-operator of a sales department or customer service for companies that do business with companies in the Netherlands and/or Flanders.

I hope you can help me with my search for a job in Ireland or can give me some advices etc.

    Many thanks!

    Sander

p.s. please correct me when I make mistakes in English!

One of the areas in the past where there would be (still is?) a strong demand for people of Dutch origin is in call centres. This would be using your Dutch language skills but your English would still get the opportunity to improve.

Possibly give a little more information about your skills and previous experience but my best recommendation would be to look around this forum for links to recruitment agencies who would be able to handle applications more efficiently and meet your needs better. This is a great forum but it's a bit hit and miss whether someone will have something specificly useful for you in the wholesale area.

I used to work in Musgrave but I don't know how much dealings they would have with Dutch suppliers. Perhaps you could look them up and maybe they won't have a job for you but they may have an idea of similar companies that could be of interest.

There's plenty of Irish jobs web-sites, you should find them on the sticky pages and good luck :D

    p.pete:

Thank you very much for your reply!

Of course I looked around on the internet for jobs in Ireland and I also saw that there are many call centres that are looking for Dutch speaking people. I think that a call centre job isn't really something for me.

At the moment I am working in a cash and carry wholesale trade shop but I don't want to do the work I am doing now for the rest of my life. I went to middle secondary school and after that I went to Middle Economical School (don't know the English name for it).

Maybe I will go to Ireland this year to look around for a job and of course visiting some nice parts of your country!

    Thanks again!

How about a dutch speaking tour guide, either in Blarney Castle or the Jameson Distillery in Crok for example

write to the flower wholesalers here, holland certainly exports 40-50 million of fresh cut flowers to ireland every year.
