Smartwings - Beware!

I'm going to Prague next month with 11 other people and we booked everything seperately around last August. Not sure of the exact specifics as my girlfriend booked everything, but I just thought I'd warn peolple about using the Smartwings Airline .

Basically what has happened was we were originally supposed to fly out on the 16th of February at around 3pm. That was fine until my sister (who had booked seperately) got an e-mail to say the flight time had been changed to 5:30pm, which wasn't too bad. Then about a month later my sister got another mail to say that the flights to Prague on that date has been cancelled completely! We then re-booked for the following day and had no problems changing our accomodation accordingly. Then last Friday we find out that the flights are completely cancelled & that they will be providing full refunds. Then to make matters worse, my girlfriend was never informed of any of this (the time changes, date changes etc) only my sister was:mad: !

We have now re-booked with Aer Lingus which is costing roughly €150 extra per couple, so at least we are still going. We're also waiting for our refunds to be provided from Smartwings.

So if you are thinking of flying anywhere, think twice before using Smartwings!

That's what I've done  I just wanted to let people know that they might be better off seeking an alternative in light of the way we got messed around.

I got this from them today......

    Dear customer,

we are sorry to inform you that due to market demand in the air traffic from January till February 2005, we are forced to make an optimalization of our timetable.

Thanks to this the flights to Zurich and Copenhagen have to be cancelled as well as summer flights to Dublin.

We strongly recommend you to consult our timetable at www.smartwings.net We are sorry for any inconvenience.

    Your Smart Wings.
