Anyone know where the best place is to get in touch with the guys coming in from Poland looking for work.I hear that they are very good at their jobs ,timekeeping etc. Some one said that there maybe a website or community centre where they stay in touch with each other and use it as an informal job centre.Any ideas appreciated

the below is a mate of mine who has set up a recruitment centre especially for eastern europeans (the only one in the country afaik)

he doesn't just deal in Polish though,
is it legal for you to even ask for a person from a certain country?
anyways, send him a mail he maybe able to help you.
tell him Anna gave you his e mail

Oh they are. The Polish people I'm working with are terrified that when they go back to Poland they'll have adopted Irish go-slo work practices. Incidentally some of them have in part, though it's mainly in their go-slo reporting of the work they've already done (which is pretty impressive in comparison to most of their Irish counterparts). I'll see what I can find out about any centralised point of contact though I'm fairly sure there isn't one down the mid-west (it's word of mouth down this way as far as I can see). As you suspect you could do a lot worse than filling your business with Poles - good attitude, nice people and hard workers (just don't get them started on Irish people being chubby). They tell me there are in fact some unattractive Polish women too so that might be news to some of you.

    huh?
do you mean alex? - yes he's legal - he seems to be their first point of contact due to him printing a little russian language newspaper which most of them seem to get their hands on after arriving here.

my legal comment was to do with the fact that I don't think you can hire someone just because they are from a certain country and not give others a chance at the job
btw thread starter, there are people here where I work form Latvia and Lithuania who are excellent, hard workers and do all the overtime asked of them and are equally as good as anybody from Poland
