    Hi all,
    Just a couple of questions-

1-Are the contact lenses you buy online the same as the ones you get in an optician's? I haven't time atm to ask an optician.

2-Which websites are best, and how long do they take to deliver?

    Cheers

    Nala

    1) Yes, but there are different types depending on your optician (what optician do you go to?)
    2) Getlenses.com are good if you want fast delivery, they're Irish. If you want to *ahem* try out lenses that you haven't been prescribed (not really recommended unless you know your stuff) then try something like contactlenses.co.uk. I've ordered from both with no problems - and saved myself a fortune, of course.

There was a detailed thread about this a long while ago in Bargain Alerts i think.

Anyway I ordered them myself last year and the cheapest by far was an American site http://www.visiondirect.com and that was when €1 was worth about $1.05, the exchange rate is much better now so they would be even cheaper.

Use the figures given on the box of your current lenses and get the same brand and they will be identical to the ones bought here, just a hell of a lot cheaper.

If you use an Irish website they insist on you sending them your prescription from your optician.
