There is always one account on the PC called Administrator and which ever one you set up.

change the way users log on/off :

start - control panel - user accounts

also account management can be done by :

right click "my computer" - choose manage - choose local users and groups - users delete offending account

disclaimer - do not delete accounts if you don't know what your doing!

Sounds like you're logging in with username Administrator? This account is ment to be just a backup if something goes wrong. That's why it doesn't get listed in the login screen. What you are supposed to do, as your brother has, is create an account for yourself that has administrator access and use this instead of the actually Administrator account.

    In NT/2K/XP Pro etc.
The admin account is your back door into the system if you screw you your normal account. Set up your account, and add your self to the administrators group. You can also remove a user from the administrators group. Or delet a user.

You can't delete Administrator or Guest, but you can rename them also the Administrator account doesn't get locked out no matter how many password attempts..

If it's any different in XP home, I don't care.

Which is fine until something goes wrong and your account gets corrupted. Has happened to me before. It's pretty hard to fix something when you can't log on as admin anymore

To have the console login as default like before just turn off the Welcome Screen option under contorl panel -> user accounts. You don't have to delete the other account to do this.

EDIT: If fact, it's a good idea NOT to delete your brother's account. At least then if something goes wrong with your account you can still log on under his.
