Been keeping an eye on that as well but the prices don't include vat and delivery which is added in your basket after you choose, bringing the price similar to the normal shop.
Having said that can anyone view the laptops or desktops anymore they seem to have been removed in the last day or two?

Yeah, when i go to look at their inventory of inspiron notebooks the page is just the usual dell headers and footers with sod all in the middle.

don't forget they are all excluding VAT, so they are not as cheap as they look

You can get the others by changing the search options on the page above

Thanks JohnK for the link. Does anyone know if these laptops and pcs actually leave Dell or if they are in anyways scratched or damaged? Is there any way of checking?

PeterK did you put in your order?

Well it's gone 6am and I have just put my in order for an Inspiron 510m, fingers crossed that it'll be in good condition. Now I'll see how long it's gonna take for it to arrive :)

Block, did you get your 510m? Are you happy with it? I'm thinking of going the same route.

I ordered an 8600 on friday,
5 working days to deliver :(

Ok, cheers. I'm just after ordering a 510m myself now. Think I got a reasonable bargain with integrated Bluetooth for Eur 994

    I picked up a Dell 4600 with:

    P4 2.8 533 FSB
    256 RAM
    80GB HD
    CD ROM
    Modem/ethernet etc
    Speakers/Keyboard/scroll mouse
    Windows XP Home

for €180 before Christmas from the outlet. I didn't even need a computer but for that price you couldn't really go wrong.

The machine was perfect and as new, and has worked perfect without any issues to date.

Just have to keep your eyes open!

Funny story; Was looking for a lappy after xmas and read about dell outlet on here. Anyway, sat and waited for a week or so till the right machine/price came along.
Ended up ordering 8500 (old model 8600) with nice specs for seriously low price. Even ended up with money off and a free case.
Anyway waited and waited for delivery but it never came. Got back on to dell sales and they discovered that the machine had got lost in transit ( ) and said they would send a replacement. went on like this for 2 weeks and I was on the verge of just calling them and telling them to refund, until I got a knock on the door this evening. Courier brought in 2 boxes. I opened the laptop and ran sysinfo and lo and behold the machine was identical spec to the one I'd originally order, but now had a wireless card, mobile pentium cpu and faster HDD.

All in all I couldn't fault dell's response to the problems I had and the end result was unreal...I end up with a €1200 specced machine for just under €800.

BTW all refurb stuff on that site is as new; no scratches or dents or stuff like that, and make sure you avail of the €79 off option on the Shopping Cart page if you are intent on buying...

Good deal's. Pity I don't know anyone going to the US soon :-(

BTW. Presidents day is a public holiday in the US (sort of like Paddy's day here). Difference here is that they are dropping prices to celebrate (and drum up business) unlike Rip off Ireland, where prices will rise on or about Paddys day.

They were celebrating Presidents day long before the bush dynasty rose to power.

Yeah I know , about the day , was trying to laugh my sorrows awaysbecause of this rip off country

Dell have posted some poor figures for the last financial quarter of 04 in the US so marketing moves like this are simply an effort to drum up business...
