January 6 is Womens Christmas, and therefore not recognised by the Church.

Christmas only begins after sunset on 25th December when Jesus was born. The wise men arrived before sunset on 6th January. Jesus was Jewish - hence the Jewish interpretation of days - hence 12 :D <Runs for cover>

This is wrong, I'm afraid. The 6th January is the Feast of the Epiphany, or the arrival of the Magi in Bethlehem. It's the last religious day of Christmas

It also celebrated as the main day by the Orthodox churches. Some parts of Europe have celebrations on December 6th, the feast of St. Nicholas aka Santa Claus and give gifts then.

Although today is the proper day to do it, a lot of people have had their decorations down days ago. Over the past 2 weeks if anyone asked me "How was your Christmas?" I just tell them that it isn't over yet. That is the thing about Christmas, we have all this hype in the run up to it and then Christmas Day arrives and it is a bit of an anti-climax. Days go back to normal for a while and then we get another peak on New Year's Eve and that is it, though technically it still has 6 days to go. So most of the excitement comes before rather than during Christmas. It'd be nice if there was a bit more fun and excitement during the Christmas period, like myabe having some of the Christmas parties then.

You know, thats actually the edited version. I had initially been afraid some people weren't going to pick up on it, so I was going to add a nice, subtle way of telling people that it was a joke, like writing "This is a joke" right beside it, but thought that it might have taken away from it...

If it was the three wise women, they'd have asked for directions and arrived somewhere around New Year's Day... But the men had to be stubborn. :p
