I plugged in my new mp3 player after installing software (its my second one by the way as the one i bought two days ago was faulty) but the computer wont recognize it and it wont do anything. Am I doing something wrong or did i get another faulty player?

my laptop wouldnt recognise some Creative products, including a Jukebox. Somethignt o do with privilges, Windows Xp woudl not install the Creatie drivers.

Found a solution online basically editing the registry .

It was a known Creative problem at the time (last summer)

my mates da got 3 usb stick mp3 players for his younger brothers over xmas.
all 3 of them installed on windows xp [plug n play] then a few seconds later windows reported an error with the device and stopped recognising them.

i havent seem him since he told me but they just seemed ****e, the usb plug was retractable, but didnt lock out so you had to use a pen on your fingernail to hold it out while you plugged it to the pc.

afaik he brought them back for a refund.
