to be honest you'll pick up better stuff probably cheaper in the resort you're going to. I guess since you don't have any, you're a beginner and are possibly going to livigno or andorra??? those 2 are tax free, so nice and cheap!
anyway - better choice of makes and styles and sizes in the resorts.
if you WANT to buy in ripoffireland try:
    great outdoors
    outdoor adventure store
    txmax

Make sure you get waterproof gloves. as a beginner you're gonna have them in the snow A LOT. your hands will get wet and cold otherwise. those 10 euro ones sound a bit cheap - most good brands are up around 100 euro, 60 at a minimum

my gloves are waterproof ski gloves. the reason they were so cheap is cos since im a girl i have tiny hands and wear kids size gloves. they kept my little fingers warm and dry on the alpine slopes. if your going to Austria, dont buy there, its almost as dear as here, except skis, they're cheap

    anywhere else?

You might think this is odd but go to TK Max. They have loads of Ski gear, band name and not, all generally 50% or more off. Girlfriend got a nice Tresspass Ski jacket in there for €80.
