The second reading of the Criminal Justice Bill is slated to happen Real Soon Now (tm) in the Dail, once that happens it goes to the committee stage of the bill-to-act process, and that's when we find out offically. There is however, one amendment already publicly printed (the one about secure storage), and the Minister has given a press statement that there will be others dealing with sawn-off shotguns.

As to when it'll be passed, my guess would be before August 1 2005, but I wouldn't nail it down any closer than that, not yet at any rate.
