cd writer or cds?

    im not sure if its my cd writer or the blank cds that are the problem i keep getting an error message saying the buffer has ran out of information i have tried using media player, itunes and easy cd creator to burn but sometimes it works and sometimes it dosent

    you've probably got an old CD burner that doesn't support buffer underrun protection. So all you have to do is nothing, literally. Whenever you burn a CD, do absolutely nothing else with your computer, and make sure you're not virus scanning or defragging in the background. Then you shouldn't have a problem.

    If its a relatively new drive, with buffer underrun protection, then its the discs that are the problem.

    Also try burning at a lower speed.

    the burner is only 3/4 months old im only burning at 12x so thats not the problem, underrun is on, so which is it

    90% chance its the discs. Get some different discs, and see if the same thing happens. Also see if it happens when you burn at a slower speed.

    it happens at lower speeds i tried different discs they have all been made by memorex sometimes it works sometimes it dosen't
