Watching a prog on RTE 2 about the evil empire I was prompted, again to wonder why NTL does'nt carry Fox News. Does anyone know of any particular reason why it can't...if Sky is blocking such a move well I guess thats that but if they're cool is it time for an e-mail campaign?

    Mike.

I have it on Sky Digital, but I never watch it, as I need to keep my blood pressure down! :D

In all seriousness, you are not missing much. Its there, but unwatched.

Isn't it kinda odd that Fox News on Sky Digital carries absolutely no ads... I wonder who pays to have it carried?!

I agree. I didn't even know what a falafal was until Bill O'Reilly came on the scene.

And some of Ann Coulters comments are pure gems like telling Canada "They are lucky we allow them to exist on the same continent.". I am sure Canada is happy now she cleared all that up.

Saw it too. I would normally back any actions the Yanks take in the war against terror - but this programme would make you think. I might normally write it off as propaganda from the opposing view, but the interviewing of jeremy Glick (whose Dad died in 9/11) by that 'gentleman' O'Reilly would make you think.

The most worrying aspect was the fact that a lot of modern-day top journalists originally cut their teeth in the independent TV sector........which now makes up Sky (sorry, Fox) news. Even Sky wouldn't get away with what Fox appear to be doing.

Where does it leave investigative reporting in the future?

thats the power of the 1st ammendment
you can get away with saying almost anything

I think more to the point where does this leave impartial reporting in the future in the US. CNN still is neutral in the states, but Fox News is the most viewed cable news channel.

In the UK, (and the EU) TV news has to be "fair and balanced". Fox News only use it as a wacky tag-line.

Nice to see the left wing propaganda machine has such a loyal following. Orielly says what he feels, sometimes hes right sometimes hes not but at least he makes himself clear.

I was listening to an interview about Al Jeezera and it was mentioned that the watchdog OFCOM had effectively banned Fox News from broascasting from within the UK as its simply too biased...Al Jeezera would be okay apparently.

This was definitely one of his low points. He makes my blood boil all the time, but this was sickening. If you're not pro-American policy, regardless of your background, he will destroy you. Great viewing though.

Racial diversity on-screen is not Fox's strong point, either:

I'm sure most of you have already seen this, but just in case - this is the report that got Fox News in trouble: http://host9.cpusa.org/article/articleview/5396/1/220

Thats why I stated from within, Sky just relay the US feed. Fox News would'nt be allowed a licence to broadcast like BBC News from London does.

As funny as that is its total bull, actually look at fox and you will see many different colours. Not that that makes anything ok but to say that they only employ white people is just a lie.

I missed that doc on rte can anyone link to it cause i would like to know what it was about (im sure it was just as bad as fahrenheit 9/11 when it comes to the truth but still)

It's amazing how we knock our own - yet if this comment were made about some other race or nation we'd be the first up in arms ("Paddy or Mick" jokes?).

that would be the posters signiture, it appears on all his posts across boards.ie.
I as one of the ICDG moderators have no control over a posters signiture short of bringing it to the attention of the admins if it breaks the Signiture rules.

You should complain here if you feel strongly enough.
