Dublin Corporation wheelie-bins

I dunno about anyone else but this whole thing kind of annoys me. Now the corporation says the binmen will only take the contents of ONE of these wheelie bins even though many people (especially flats) generate much more waste than the bins can take.

I think it's a good idea by the Corporation on one level since it forces people to limit their waste but they just foisted this on everyone in Dublin without any notice but what ****es me off even more is the fact that they haven't even combined it with a comprehensive recycling policy. It'd be fine if they accepted only one of those wheelie-bins plus 3 or four smaller bins of sprted recyclable waste for collection.

Bloody waste of tax-payers' money - the corporation gets everyone's tax-pounds and they still squander it on ill-conceived measures like this.

at the end of the day, we still have to get rid of our waste. now whether you pay someone to do it or you do it yourself, well thats up to you. but i dont think 100 quid a year is too much to ask. i mean i spend about that on games, hardware for a hobby every month.
    100 quid isnt much.
and the bins are pretty nig too. you could fit about 4 bodies in one, if you chopped them up right smile.gif

    LOL bodies
    well in my area
    I've seen the wheelie bin's
most of them do be full but they don't be overloaded, I've only ever seen one or two people with little bags beside it, sometimes the binmen take them too, but I don't think the size of the wheelie bins are a big problem.

Naw, I'm not complaining about the price, just the ****ty service.

We all should be more environmentally conscientious and the Corporation should have lined up with EU environmental protocols long ago - but they never get anything done and when they do, its a half assed attempt.

Their present measure it just pretty dumb when it isn't backed up by a proper recycling policy.

Werl, if anything - they make the streets look nicer on the night before collection day... all those wheely bins all lined up... oh my stars!... well they look better than black bin-liners and Tesco bags anyway.
It's also easier to put out the garbage since, the erm... wheels 'n things.

There's going to be an extra wheelie bin for recycling paper and glass soon. Some listed buildings, however, may not be able to have these wheelie bins for some antiquated reason or another.
Myself at home and my work have halved if not more than that our waste output due to recycling. Some companies charge for this but some corporation bin brothels have recycling skips. Maybe you guys know this but the feeling you get when you recycle is a clean high.
    mmmmmmm legal highs mmmmm

in austria they have machines that give you money for empty plastic bottles (think Coke or fanta 2 litre bottles or smaller). the machine will scan the bottles, recycle them and spit out a small receipt which you hand over to the lady in the supermarket, who gives you money in return. i always preffered ice cream though smile.gif

what do we have, wheelie bins!! you can put anything into them except hot ashes.

Goddam, It takes 2 regular bins to dispose of a dismambered human carcass, regardless of whether you keep the head or not.

A wheelie bin is far handier. No lifting and it all goes in one go......Did I think that or type that? Oh damn I have done it again....stop....bad hands bad

Keep your powder dry and your pants moist
