    Megadeth
I went for In Flames, simply because their first few albums are utterly phenomenal, and imo will never be topped, Whoracle and Jester Race are simply genius. Nightwish would be my second favourite from that list, unbelievable band altogether, very consistantly good too, all their albums are worth a listen. Mastadon are another great band, always worth a listen, and Kill Switch Engage have some brilliant music aswell.

A few bands you forgot however, WinterSun, their a very new band, with only 1 album (conveniantly called WinterSun), however quality > quantity, the album really is a master piece, and I would rate it as the best album of the year no bother. You also forgot Dark Tranquility, another superb melodic death band (like In Flames), superb band and definately worth a mention, particullarly albums like 'The Gallary', and 'Haven', superb stuff. Evergrey are also worth a listen, very easy on the ears too, particularly their latest 2 albums, 'Recreation Day', and 'The Inner Circle'.

    Megadeth
i voted in flames as well...next to lost prophets the only ones i really like in this poll

still..top metal band is quite controversial..do you mean...those with most commercial success...or most innovative..or those with new albums, or extensive touring..or just plain personal favourites...which is the most subjective and difficult to give justice to in a poll like that...imho

What sort of tunes will yiz be playing? Hope it's not all the commercial end of the Metal Rainbow? I don't mind some of it but not a whole show's worth :p

    Taking Back Sunday
Don't play too much new stuff, as new stuuf usually equals rap-metal, which although some is good, I still prefer "metal", as opposed to nu-metal, rap-metal, etc.

Play Sepultura, Pantera, Slayer, Judas Priest, Megadeth, etc.

As for the "new music", I like Nightwish, and Slayer @ the mo.
