Swapping Sky Cards

We've got 2 sky boxes in 2 seperate rooms, 1 has Sky Sports but the one in my room doesn't. I thought I could switch cards if there was a match on but that doesn't work as the box recognises that it not the proper viewing card for that box. Is there any way around this?
I know I could swap boxes boxes but it's too much hassle ever time just to see a match

If you want to watch two different programs you're going to need a Mirror Subscription or as Sky calls it, MultiRoom. It costs an extra €15 per month - you'll get 2nd Digicard for your second box that will let you watch any channel you want regardless of what channel the other box is on. (Of course you'll only be able to get the same set of channels you get now on your main subscription)

As far as I know each Sky subscription is married to one box . I think they will work in any box on the family package but not on the premium channels. Please correct me if I'm wrong on that .

I think its only Freeview cards that ARE NOT MARRIED. All other sky sub cards whatever package you have are married.

Tested it this morning and yes the family package is not married as such. So you take your card to another box and watch any Sky family package channel. As stated premium channels will give the message "wrong card for set top box" .

it is married for the family pack in that you cannot watch RTE when you put the card in the wrong box

You could always disconnect the whole box and bring it out the other room with card left inside

(ADDS: Apologies to the mods for my oversized signature I was in the process of editing my posts to remove/resize it but I see I was beaten to it)
