they played the sfx on the day of my junior cert irish exam, so i couldn't go. i got to see them at ozzfest. great show, but i would have prefered to have seen them at the sfx.

as for future dates, with a new album supposed to be out this year (tool aren't exactly realiable with dates) you can bet on a tour

I was at both, thought the ozzfest show was better for some reason... part of it was that I knew more of their stuff at ozzfest than I did at the sfx, but it was just a better experience... the venue sucked but it ruled to listen to tool live while the sky slowly turned dark, was a wee bit trippy (no, I wasn't on any drugs)

Aye, the 2 shows listed are correct. Both shows were amazing, thought nothing will top my shock/delight at Tool opening with Flood at Ozzfest, fooking unbelievable!!!!!!

www.toolband.com is their website. Don't expect them to play Ticks & Leeches live though, Maynard screwed up his voice for 3 weeks after he recorded vocals for it.

Yes don't expect it live. They never play it live. Especially not when they played Punchestown and played Ticks & Leeches. And all those bootlegs I have with Ticks & Leeches on them are fake. :p

Yeah - would love to have seen System of a Down at Ozzfest too - but Leaving Cert was on at the time - so it was a non-starter :(

When are they playing here again?

If they don't come here I'll consider going abroad to see them again. Great band on cd. Even better live.

They have played it? Oh... the tool faq must be wrong... http://toolshed.down.net/faq/faq.html

"** Why haven't they played "Ticks & Leeches" live yet?
All of the songs with lyrics from "Lateralus" have made it onto setlists so far except for this one. Maynard recorded vocals for this song after all the others, and threw his voice out completely for a few days as a result of the screaming. In Oor Magazine (May 2001), he says "the band can hassle me all they want about Ticks & Leeches, I won't do it live. Three weeks it cost me. I couldn't sing a high note.""

I think it's a long time since that FAQ was updated, at the time they weren't playing it live. But don't believe ANYTHING on the web related to tool, their own site has been known to blatently lie. Take it all with a pinch of salt and pray for a new cd soon followed by a healthy dose of live dates :D

i love tool and havent seen them live, so if/when they ever come here, ill there like a shot, and yeah ive seen a downloaded video of them performing ticks and leeches, although, way he was 'screaming' was different from the album version, and his voice had a lot of effects on it, sounded alright.

I have a nice live video of them playing it live :) Danny's drumming is class on it.

When I saw tool in New Jersey they did Commando by the Ramones. Not often you see too doing Punk Tunes!!!

    Eagerly awaiting the new album...

Ahem, I've seen Dabhoy's tool bootleg collection, I wouldn't stick my tongue out at him ;)

    That's a good cover though.
