Samsung DVD/CD-RW drive problem

    this is an odd one,

i was at a mates today to help him set up his ipod (god i know how hard could it be...) and during the installation of the ipod drivers i got some random error and had to shut down the install and when i tried to install again it gave me another random error message, so i thought hmmm maybe a restart is in order, so i done that but it hanged on the reboot for about 3 minutes so i held the power button in and switch off, switched back on again.

now the CD rom drive is not being recognised, went into device manager and it was saying that the drivers were missing/corrupt ???

so i uninstalled it and rebooted the machine so windows could install drivers for it again. no luck.

the drive is a samsung SM-352B (so device manager says)
went to samsung's web site but in the download drivers section all i could find was a manual for the fuppin thing.

anyone know where i might be lucky to obtain these drivers or have another idea/solution?

i'm going back out there (20 miles away) at 1pm today so swift replies are in order,

    thanks guys,

In the device manager, right click then uninstall, then reboot and let windows install it again.

    done that, doesn't work.

    it says in device manager

"windows dectects that the drivers are missing/corrupt please reinstall drivers or update them"

    any other ideas??
