help,re. load up cod and farcry in 640 x480 resolution?

    I got athlon2400,256meg ram,with 64meg nvidia ti 4200 graphics card, for xmas,but im using old svga noname monitor, card says monitor is 800x600, but i can only play games in 640x480x32 res,if i load farcry or callof duty in 800,x600res i get double images,can see menus properly to getinto video options to change res ,is there any way i can use shortcut,or script or change config,cfg etc just to get em to load up in lowres 640x480, automatically.Ill be getting secondhand 19inch crt , probably in a few weeks i,d just like to see how far cry plays on this pc, by the way i have ddr ram, is is possible to put in extra ram, from,p4pc, its old sdram p100,if not ill have to get another 256ddr at some point.

    Check which refresh rate it is at 800x600, might be causing some problems. Set it to 60hz to test.

    You can't mix those ram types.

    A 2nd monitor hand 17" would be about €50-70. Lots of people give away free 15" monitors that can do 1024. Keep an eye on the for sale forum and post a wanted request in "wanted" forum.

    I went into main.config changed res to 640x480 ,it runs fine now,full detail shadows, textures etc id like to get 19inch crt to play hl2 etc ,it lo0ks beautiful ,fantastic graphics but 14inch monitor is too small to play it on,ti4200 says refresh rate is 60mhz.thats main.cfg.
