right, after acuiring some money over the christmas period i've decided to splash out on a few new things that i've had my eyes on for a while. i've already researched the items thoroughly and just came here to get a final everything is okay go ahead type answer.

    1. IIyama Vision Master Pro 454 19" CRT DiamondTron Monitor (£242.05)
    2. Pioneer 108 16x DVD±RW Dual Layer ReWriter Black (£52.82)
    3. Sennheiser PC155 USB Pro-Gaming Headset (£77.49)

item one is to replace a 6 year old dell 17inch monitor and it's to help me achieve low resolutions in Counter-Strike with high Hertz.

item two is only £50 sterling and i believe they're a steal at this price

item three is for again counter-strike as my plantronics audio 90's were stepped on by my nephew.

all prices were quoted from www.overclockers.co.uk

sorry forgot to mention i've a strong phobia against ordering off komplett since my last time. paid for the dhl service and it didn't arrive until a week after it was shipped, also the gls service is bad from komplett.

there is a big difference between the monitors

    vision master pro 454

    vision master 1451

the refresh rates at the lower res' are most important for me since i like my cs low resolution with high refresh rates

imo the NEC is better (the dvd writer ere)...but maybe thats because ive got 1.. but i know i was comparing the 2 and got the nec because it did something faster or something the pioneer didnt..cant remember now :(

wouldnt buy the Sennheiser's - do you really need to spend that much just for CS - if you want good headphones, go for some headphones designed for listening to music instead - eg Sennheiser HD 580,maybe Grado SR80, or something like that and a cheap headset fo the computer. Otherwise get a 5.1 system for you pc

    already got one

ohh and there's a very good reason why i didn't pick the NEC drive.

they own packard bell and i've had rough dealings with them about 5 years ago and i vowed at that stage never to give them a single cent since then
