just wondering about a problem i'm having with new graphics card drivers

i have a Ati Radeon 9000 and everytime i install the newest drivers the text all scrambles after about ten minutes of using the computer.

I've tryed the omega drivers and the official ones but both give out the same result.

funny thing is the old drivers that came with the card work fine.

    i'm totally stumped.

    on i have Amd64 3000, 512 mem, and windows 2000 professional.

if anyone can help i'd be much appreciated.

Oh yeah even though the text scrambles you can still start a new game and the drivers seem to work fine(e.g half life 2).

One possibilty for a cause of text corruption in the Radeons which I came across was if you had previously been using an Nvidia based card before the Radeon and had installed the Radeon without thoroughly removing all Nvidia drivers. Might this have happened to you?

If you are using CAT drivers, all versions from 4.9 or so onwards require microsoft.net 1.1 (patched) to be installed. or you'll have ongoing problems...

My name is Dr Bolouswki, and I am am your video card problem saviour....

ok i'm going to sort through these answers.

    the nividia thing is'nt it.

This problem only happnened after i put in my new processor etc.

Since then i've had the problem unless i just use the drivers from the original cd.

OH now i'm having freeze ups perioodically... games and desktop.

anyway i'll go ahead and try.

if it works with the original drivers then use them. if its not broke don't fix it. i have a 9800 pro and i had to do that. new drivers fooked it up a bit so i went back to the original ones
