hello GS old buddie, im in nyc at the moment. there are a few comp outlets dotted around the city, but the best ive found is J&R www.jr.com

If buying a whole pc or laptop this is the best bet, components arent really any cheaper.

I picked up an apple powerbook 12" for around 1300 euro (its 1800+ here)

J&R is big, its a couple stories high and a block long and its handy to get too.

Be carefull if you are travelling Aer Lingus as the customs are on the war path with all flights from the US into Dublin.

Have a look in circuit city just on union square beside Virgin also there is a sony store out in woodbury common(an hours drive north of manhattan) which is literally half the price of here in Ireland.

unlikely that you will see customs then as you will be *cough* returning from London and entering arrivals via the Blue channel.

You wont go through customs at all in heathrow as you will be transferring and NY flights are in the same terminal as Dublin and Cork now afair, a long walk apart but no customs.
p.s that sony store in woodbury is the dogs bollix, was there in july.
ESPECIALLY now however with the exchange rate
