Woo. Managed to write another poem, I've been on lyrics for months. This one came out of a French test I finished early

Tides of fear and sorrow washing through the human mind
Hitting banks of self control and washing them aside
Inside ourselves we struggle, Daily is the fight
Sometimes we win against ourselves, but sometimes we do not

Perhaps this war is futile, this internal struggle false
Or is it all worthwhile, but we do not know at all
Empowered by our victories, we continue on the fight
Mayhaps it is a waste of time, but somehow it feels right

    In a world without hope
    Surely life could not live

Veins that criss cross 'neath our skin
    Energy and life
    Red crimson flows inside them
Yet it cannot see the light

Let it free and let it flow
Or should we leave it be
No, I say, away the blade
Good life should not be lost

In this dark world we still should see
    Shadows are not so strong
Never shall they crush your heart
Till you let them do so

In a world with no hope
    There is no life

Do NOT read this spoiler until you have finished the poem, if you do it will remove a lot from it
It's an acrostic. Read along the left hand side

I have a habit of looking for exactly what you did ever since the Goth poetry thread on the Weebls stuff forums. No spoiler reading for me... :)

    It's not long.

It is by my standards. And it's only as long as the phrase, so blame the phrase
