I'm a bit of a fan, but I know hardly anyone else who listens to his music. Just wondering if people on here listened to his stuff?

Ah yah, i quite like him. He has a bit of an ego though and sometimes is too much in to himself, eg the g3 shows he completely drowned out vai and satriani on their solo's in voodo child. He's playing on acoustic is amazing. I'd love to be able to play classical like that... baroque and roll.

His acoustic playing is quite poor when he's playing fast. You can't hear any notes, just pick noise.

But his other stuff is fantastic, if a little 80s-esque and egocentric. Love BlackStar and Arpeggios From Hell though.

Only ever had one album, it was cool enough afaik, but I never followed up, just went in the list of stuff I needed to check out, unfortunately that list has grown rather large, Recently Ive been compiling together what I want to get my hands on, i think Ill add him now :)

I admire the man greatly but I'm not a huge fan of his music. He played the Top Hat in Dun Laoghaire back in the very early 90's and I think everyone at the gig got at least one plec :)

ah i'd put Vai and Satch above him myself. Whats this throwing the guitar around his neck all about? He's great and all, id love to be able to play like him, but alas like vai and satch, it's all kinda of the same stuff over and over.... and over.

Once you get past the speed, it's just the A Minor harmonic scale repeated. I'm not to sure I'd put him in my top ten even when you consider you've got guitarists like Vai, Satriani, Gilbert, Petrucci and god knows how many others.

He's got some serious fooking technique. Downloaded a few tunes a while ago to see how good we is....... his speed and accuracy is amazing. That said I haven't listened to them since. It's just too mechanical for my taste.
