Hi, anyone here going to the Velvet Revolver gig? I've heard a nasty rumour that they only play for about 45mins, I really hope this isn't the case can anyone refute this? I remember the Chili Peppers gig in Lansdowne road they only played for just over an hour, New Order played for longer and they were the support; it was crap anyway. I dunno how the chili's ever got the rep for been a big stadium band, they are and always will be better in small venues. For the sake of conversation, whats the shortest gig you've ever gone to?

Deicide in 91 - no support band and they only had one album out. Entire gig was 40 minutes.

    ****ing great gig though :D

    You sound suprised!!!
Lads, lets all think about this. They only have 1 album, which is just over 45 minutes long, and I presume that they wont play all the songs on it. I've heard they usually cover a GNR song and a STP song too, so all together thats bout 45 to 50 mins in which they can play without breaking out all the crappy, half-ased covers that no one wants to hear. Yes, I know its Slash and Co. but still.
Personally,45 mins sounds like a good time to me,especially when you've only got one album.

PS. Anyone got a spare ticket they'd like to donate to me?

Who's playing support? A short main set might not be so bad if combined with some good support.

I seem to remember reading an amateur review of a gig on snakepit.org saying that they only played for 45 minutes so I assume you read the same one.

I don't think this is a regular occurance so I think we'll be alright.

They played this setlist in London in September:
    # Sucker Train Blues
    # Do It For The Kids
    # Headspace
    # Spectacle
    # Crackerman (Stone Temple Pilots cover)
    # Illegal i Song
    # Fall To Pieces
    # Big Machine
    # Set Me Free
    # Used To Love Her (Guns N' Roses cover)
    # Slither
    # Sex Type Thing (Stone Temple Pilots cover)
    # It's So Easy (Guns N' Roses cover)
    # Negative Creep (Nirvana Cover)

    Oh, and Datsuns are supporting

Shortest gig? Audioslaves gig was pretty short last year - but the record belongs to Therapy? & Bruce Dickinson in Belfast - they played for BBC Radio 6, lasted less than 45 mins....

According to ticketmaster.ie the show isn't even sold out yet!
I'm quite surprised. I usually have to be on the phone bright and early to get a ticket for any gig in this country!
