    Hi all,

Just wondering where would be the best place to go to get regulators serviced. Flagship are doing a deal at the moment for €80. I know it has to be done but am unsure of the work involved. Seems a bit steep to me (or am I just being stingy).

Also if you are out there ScubaChick do you know how much the Kilkee Dive Center charge??

    Cheers

    BF

    What make are your regs?

Depending on the make of reg, you could also try aquaholics in the north. I've 2 regs that need servicing, one of which needs a DIN conversion. It works out considerably cheaper for me to mail them to Aquaholics and get them shipped back to me than going locally (Dublin). I assume I won't get any diving done over the christmas so now's as good a time as any to get them done.

www.aquaholics.org -- just send off an email asking for price

And no I don't think you're being stingy. With me getting 2 regs serviced and a conversion, I was looking at ~€200 euro which definitely isn't small money.

Sorry. Forgot to say - they are Apeks (ATX40). Didn't think of Aquaholics - bought a good bit of gear off them this year and the service was excellent. Got the lady to order my crimbo pressie from them yesterday! Sheesh. My mind after a night on the booze!

My two regs are ATX40s as well... hoping to get them sent off tomorrow if I remember to bring them into work with me. Mail them asking for prices including shipping etc. It should still work out considerably cheaper.

Have to order a couple of things myself off them but might wait until the New Year.

Just got a mail back from them
    Servicing of Reg £32
    + octo £8
    + shipping back £7

According to xe.com that works out to €68.50. So if the postage up was less than a tenner it would be worth it.

Fair play to them - seems to be a good bit cheaper (apart from the postage - but in fairness that's not their fault). Might go with that option unless somewhere here can do it cheaper.

Do aquaholics servie Oceanic?? If so would someone be willing to split the shipping cost with me?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 406 ✭✭bigfeller

Not too sure but would be well on for splitting shipping.

I've checked the aquaholics web site and there is no mention of oceanic products anywhere.

I will have to be dv diving, who are also in the north.

Just checked with Aquaholics - they do not service Oceanic or Poseidon regs. They do service all other brands. Which is of feck all use to you!

    Got this back on mail.
    Hi,
Reg service charges are #20 for the first stage and #10 for the second stage plus the Oceanic service kits and any parts required
    Best Regards

    Now. Do they do Apeks??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,758 ✭✭✭Peace

DV Diving are registered service technicians for Apeks, Poseidon, Mares and Oceanic.

Indeed they do Bigfeller, indeed they do.

    Anyone interested?

If anyone's interested I sent my regs off last week to Aquaholics. Cost 11.50 or something standard and 13 euro for first class so I went with that. This was for 2 regs. Can't remember exactly but it might have been 4.5Kg or so. Have the receipt at home.
