Jogging out in the cold - What to wear!

    Hi,

I've never been one for jogging outdoors. I've always tended to stick to the gym. However with Christmas looming, and all the extra food intake, I want to keep up with the excercise, despite being at home, and not having access to my gym.

Question is, what's the best attire to wear when out jogging in cold temperatures? I don't want to overheat, but I don't want to catch a cold either!

    Thanks,

    Kevin.

One thing if your jogging on poorly lit roads make sure to have a viso vest on for your own safety!
I jog in a fairly light tracksuit pants ,long sleeved t-shirt and light rain jacket with a pair of gloves and thick sports socks under my runners!
If you do a decent warm up at home in your house you should not feel the cold too much at the start of your jog, once your in the middle of it you should not feel the cold at all well maybe a little on your face!

I'd also recommend a headtorch for poorly lit roads. Could save you a nasty ankle twist, or worse being knocked down.

Yeah - wearing reflective gear is important aright!

I usually stick to my shorts and long sleaved t-shirt - I find that once I get going Im warm enough and sweat buckets anyway so dont really feel the cold. I hate being too warm when I go running.

    Thanks for the replies guys.
Good thinking about the reflective vest. Do you know where I can get one relatively cheap?

Id say you're best bet for choice would be your local hardware/safety shop.

Some of the larger shops like Arnotts would have them also Id say - not too sure about price.
