He sang with Free and Bad Company. A classic rock legend, don't think it'd work him singing the whole Queen repetoire, but seemingly he did a decent job at the UK Hall Of Fame induction ceremony.

Yes, I've heard this news too. I am a huuuge Queen fan and I cant wait for the new Spring tour! I hope they come to Dublin, if not I'll have to go to London, where they always play!

Ah, it couldn't be the same. Seems shallow but, I think a frontman cant actually be replaced.

Same as other touring bands like Thin Lizzy & The Doors. If a guitarist or bassist decides to call it a day, its difficult but not impossible to replace.

IMO same cant be said for the frontman.

Depends on the frontman IMO. Freddie was probably the best frontman there's ever been, so god help whoever they get to try and replace him. A differnet drummer or guitarist will change the dynamic of a band but the frontman is the voice and hardest to replace (though not impossible). Personally, I reckon Taylor and May should just change the band name, John Deacon isn't involved either, it's just not Queen as I know and love them.

Think about what it must be like for Brian May and other members of the band. Freddie dies and suddenly not only have you lost your best mate and front man for your band but also you've lost your career. I mean none of them have done any significant work since.
Brian May is one of the most talented guitarists alive today, for him not to be out working is a crime. If he was to go and do another band he would more then likely be open to a lot of criticism. Plus he might not make as much money.
While the new front man, whoever he is will never be anywhere near as good as Freddie and that Queen will never really be Queen again, it'll still be great to have them touring again and playing all the greats. I know I'd go and see them anyway!! And lets not forget Freddie was a replacement front man for Tim Staffell so it's all relative

Oh I agree Paul Rodgers is **** at being frontman for Queen. NOBODY can replace the grest Freddie Mercury but I want to see Brian and Roger not Paul Rodgers, thats why I want them to come to dublin.

I'm also a bit 50/50 on the whole Queen thing.. maybe if John Deacon was involved it'd be a bit more realistic, like the 'Queen+' idea of the Freddie Mercury tribute concert. Maybe it should be billed as (Brian May and Roger Taylor of) Queen with Paul Rodgers

I saw Queen on the Hall of Fame thingy and Paul Rodgers' voice just sounded weak in comparison to Freddie Mercury's. The songs just weren't the same and I think May and Taylor would be better off forming a new band playing new stuff, not Queen songs, rather than alienating Queen fans (of which I'm not one, incidentally)
