Quadro fx 3400 pci-express... worth it?

    I can get a quadro fx 3400 for cheap and i was wondering was it worth getting just for gaming? i had never heard of it till today and thought i had made my mind up on the geforce 6800 pci-express.... any advice? asap please!!

    I just had a look on google. You are kidding right. A choice like that - nice situation to be in if your not blowing smoke up our ass.

    No real tests or benchmarks around that i could see against the 6800 anyway. Stick with the 6800 for the safe bet - tried and tested.

    the FX3400 is basically similar to 6800GT in performance in gaming(16 pixel pipelines, 350 core, 900 memory(compared to GT's 1000), 6 geometry engines), but if you are doing anything that makes special use of a quadro, it will far outperform it.

    If you go for the 6800 Ultra, PM me the price you got for the Quadro!
    Alternatively, I can swap you a 6800GT for the Quadro.

    you know i think he was right in calling you a chancer!! seriously though, i think i will just stick to the geforce 6800 ultra pci-e cause the potential of the quadro would just be wasted. although, if it is a reall y good price i might!! :rolleyes: if anyone finds a bargain on the 6800 pop it up on bargain alerts! thanks!
