Calis, depends what speakers are you talking about, if you are talking about this Altec Lansing 221 speakers that are lost at maplins for like 60 euro, they are in one word BAD. I tried them for one day, and the next morning I was running like a man with a diaria runs to the toilet, to return them.

I got that silvercrest 5.1 set in Lidl a few months ago for €65. Best money I've ever spent. I've got a creative audigy 2 ZS sound card, which works perfectly with it. The sound is really powerful, doesn't destort until its 4/5 of the way to the max and the bass....ohhhh the bass! ANd just to say that it really doesn't matter if you have it in your bed room or anywhere, 5.1 or 7.1 beats 2.1. Don't worry about space. I'm renting a room that only 7ft x 7ft, and I managed to rig up the 5.1 just grand.

NO, no, no, no, no, no, no!!!

2.1 is for idiots with no ears and a taste in music like sour olives, Yeeeukkk!

Get as much as ye can.

I bought 5.1 Creative for around 80 - 90 Euro in town, Unity Etail near Jervis. Woofer nearly took half my face off and I have 5 speakers to put in all my pockets, even my front pocket in my jeans.

I cannot stress enough how bad 2.1 is, it's like Poo in a mouldy Bap over each ear.

actually all the audiophiles I know prefer 2.1 for music, 5.1 is for movies and games

Gangsta, it all depends on your taste man, you asked for the best, and I told you the best you can get in computer multimedia world, if you want a mediocre system go for those 60-100 euro systems, but if you want the best like you wrote in your post, the speakers that I listed are the best available, and Z-2200 suits you the most, since you asked for big bass.

Yes, they cost a lot, but trust me dude, they are worth every penny you put into them, and once you listen to them you will agree with me :P
