Coping DVD to my Hard drive?

If I want to copy a DVD to my hard drive, so I can then watch it thru Windows Media Player or WinDVD, what is the best FREE program to do this?

Some of the previous threads seemed to suggest DVD Shrink, but those threads were focused on COPYING DVDs, which is not exactly what I want to do.

    Thanks.

I think you may be looking to rip the DVD. Which may be legal if you own the DVD. Isn't if you intend using it for anything other than a back up on behalf of teh owner. TBH though I'm not sure on the legality -> and hence how much I can say about it. Searching on ripping should provide you that info.
