If you have Family or friends in uk, get them to ring up the number on this site and order a viewing card sent to them, they will forward it to you, they cost £ 20.

    Freesat From Sky

if that's yes to the 3 questions, what action does my Northern Irish relative need to take when he get's delivery of the freesat card.

does he need to give info regarding his digi-box to sky for activation.

say if he does'nt actually have a digi-box? (i think he's on NTL)!!

He need to post it to you, then you put it in your box.
Ring him then giving him the serial number of the box and the version number.
Safer to give him all the info on that install menu actually.
Then he rings the fTV number again and asks them to activate it, they will ask him for the serial number, version number etc of the box(your box which he is pretending that he has)
You leave the card in the box on say BBC1 london and after a time maybe up to 24 hrs BBC1 london will have changed to BBC1 NI and you will have the other channels too.

so i could call myself, using 141 on fone, and get it activated for NI.

I would just need his name and address in Belfast, say.

(just finding out if this is theoretically possible, not advocating it!!!)

If you have any awkward questions just say you are at work and tell them you'll ring back. If you ring back you'll get someone else and it will be fine. At $ky there is no consistency.
Is box you wanted to register tied to any sub??

actually, i will be a new sky subscriber, necessitated by house move in next week, so this will be a new contract. basic family pack. €28p/m. ftv card required to maintain c4 and utv. will this be a problem??

perhaps i should wait, or buy from e-bay (see activated freesat card on sale there for £39.99 +postage). whaddya think??

I'm not sure if they have a database that flags if its a ROI box with a new contract!!!

If the 40quid option is legit and you can trust it I'd go for that.

The card I got was got in January from Free2View.tv, signed up on the net paid with my Belgian CC, card arrived in Leeds a few days later, pal there posted it over. Stuck it in my old Panasonic box and it self activated!!! that card works in both of my $ky boxes,
