VW Polo headlamp problems

Mrs. hansov's (01) VW Polo is due its NCT and so in anticipation of this occasion, it was booked in to the dealership for it MOT before the NCT! Lo and behold there was a problem with the adjusters in the headlamps which apparently is a common complaint (according to the garage guy). While considered as wear and tear, surely headlamp adjusters should last longer than three years (5,000 miles per year driving). I spoke to somebody else who had the same problem with her Polo and I was wondering if anybody else have this difficulty. Thanks

They dont give problems generally unless the headlamp has had a bump and broken the hinges inside, If motors go faulty then they generally go noisy first befor stopping working but doubt this in your case.
