It's not really a good idea to be honest unless you are armed.

Saying that 2 guys intervened when I got jumped by 4 guys on O'Connell St one night. I owe my life to them.

Depends on the situtaion really! But if it was a mate or someone I knew fairly well, I'd probably help out!

Having said that you would never know the reason for starting the fight, maybe the mate of mine could well have deserved the leathering!!!

Had a mate did just that only to be told the guy getting the beating had raped the attackers sister. Despite promising to "defend the weak" at the start of every class I doubt I would intervene.I have a wife and child to get home to myself!
If a guy was taking a bad beating from several opponents I might try to talk them down, but ****ed if I'm getting hurt for anyone! I'd be lots happier in that scenario if I had my own brother there for backup to stop me getting blindsided or just to unleash ala "Gladiator"

Unless it's someone I know and respect I wouldn't step in. There's about 1 person that falls into that category though.

Its a toss up between "Superhero" instincts and self preservation.

If I felt it was the right thing to do I would intervene with words. I dont like hitting or hurting people so I would be very reluctant to physically intervene.

Its impossible to realistically answer a hypothetical!

It depends on the situation, but unlike Colum I do like hitting and hurting people, so if needs be I'd fire ahead.

I have done in the past a coupla times, AND i never actually hit anyone in doing it, tho I ate a dig once lol.


Just dont expect any thanks from the person you step in for, odds are they know the person whos hitting them while they dont know you.

If it was not someone I knew, then it would have to look like a life and death situation, and I'd have to be on my own or with people that I knew could handle themselves. Because I could be with the wife and kids. Then it's not a place to go

but i've done it before and i'd do it again if I thought the situation called for it.

I'd be too scared. I hate seeing fights though. I would call the police in a second.

Probably not unless I knew the people involved, I call the police straight away though. The trouble is that you're always going to get hurt in a street fight, its just a case of whether the other person gets hurt more than you!

Very much depends but have done so in the past and would probably do so again in future.
